Being Your Child’s Best Advocate Workshop
March 10, 2016, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Advocacy is one of the roles that every parent must take on, and for those with extraordinary children, it can often involve many other players – from teachers to agencies. Being your child’s best advocate can seem daunting – a task often clouded by emotion, and met with many obstacles, including policies, politics and shrinking budgets.
More and more, parents will need to work towards collaborative approaches with their providers to meet the needs of their children. This interactive workshop will teach attendees how to approach these conversations from a team based philosophy, where the interests of all parties are addressed and considered.
