2016 Els for Autism Golf Tournament Gives Everyone Reason to Cheer

The third annual Els for Autism Golf tournament was graciously hosted by Glencoe Golf and Country Club on June 20th. Participants were treated to the inspiration, energy and enthusiasm of Lisa “Longball” Vlooswyk who provided an engaging golf demonstration and lead everyone in a great time at the dinner and auction as Master of Ceremonies. The fun loving youth participants brought their own special flare to the hands on golf experience created by the legendary Ernie Els. There might be some future golf legends in the making by the looks of their driving, chipping and putting efforts under the guidance of Jen Hong, a guest from the Els for Autism organization and the helpful hands of local golf pros from the Glencoe Golf and Country Club.
It was a wonderful boost to the organizers and volunteers to see a record draw of golfers in a time of significant economic pressure. Also very exciting is to have had the net proceeds increase markedly from last year, an outcome that will be so welcome in the support of local autism programs.
