Beast Mode Fitness First Experience Invitation

With the start of September and ‘back to school’ season around the corner, many individuals worry that this can often torpedo plans to engage in health and fitness activities. Often, a return back to the class room can come accompanied by grievances of ‘too much homework’ and ‘lack of free time to do anything’ leading to the ‘Couch Potato Blues’ that many of us experience every year. With this in mind, the facilitator team at the Ability Hub would like to invite you to sign up for our new fitness training programs that we are offering to meet your fitness needs! The “Beast Mode” Fitness First Experience is an exercise program for male and female teens/young adults (16-30yrs of age) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are looking to learn how to become more physically active in their lives. In September, we will be hosting 2 fitness programs for the fall semester:
- Beast Mode program – a weight training course model is designed to promote interest in developing mobility, flexibility, strength training, cardio conditioning, and to help individuals develop/attain personal fitness goals offered once a week for 10 weeks.
- Beast Mode 2.0 program – The Beast Mode 2.0 fitness model is designed to ‘take fitness to the next level’ through a manageable yet more challenging fitness routine focusing on developing/encouraging teamwork, and enhancing social skills. The 2.0 program is designed to apply skills learned in the gym within a variety of new community settings (e.g., rock climbing, golfing, soccer, etc.

We will be starting our Beast Mode course on Wednesday evenings (5-6pm) beginning on September 27th. Beast Mode 2.0 will run on Thursday mornings (10:30-11:30am) beginning on September 28th. Prior to the start of programming, participants/family members will have an opportunity to meet with the facilitators/trainers to discuss the program, identify potential goals, review ‘gym etiquette and rules ’, and tour the facility. Participants will also meet with a trainer to develop a customized training program to address their unique needs.
