Bigger, Stronger, Faster: Improving lives through Fitness Programming
Posted: May 31, 2016 in The Ability Hub News
We are pleased to announce the successful run of our first fitness course offered through the Ability Hub. The “Beast Mode” Fitness First Experience is a new exercise program for male and female teens/young adults with ASD who are looking to learn how to become more physically active in their lives. The ten week program focuses on developing teamwork skills, gym etiquette, mobility, flexibility, strength, and fun!
Our program provides participants with the opportunity to challenge and improve their physical and mental wellbeing while also allowing them to progress at their own pace. We pride ourselves on the importance of creating a comfortable environment and encouraging a team atmosphere.
Here is a testament from one of our current members describing what participating in the group has done for him:
This program has helped me expand my interests and give me better insight and control over my health, so I can stay happy and healthy. It’s allowed me to grow and feel good about myself while I’m in the company of other individuals like myself. In this program, I have learned how to set and achieve goals and build confidence in myself. This program has also helped me make new friends and feel comfortable about my social abilities. Remember, you never know you like something until you try it. All in all, I’ve really enjoyed my experience in our ‘Beast Mode’ men’s fitness group, and I hope you will too!
