CommunityWorks Canada Request for Applications
Posted: February 10, 2015 in General Autism News
The Sinneave Family Foundation and Autism Speaks Canada are pleased to announce the release of a Request for Applications (RFA) as it relates to the set-up, implementation and evaluation of the CommunityWorks Canada® program in multiple locations across Canada.
CommunityWorks Canada (CWC) is a pre-vocational training program designed to improve employment readiness and the employment skills of youth and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is a 4-year, $11.4 million federally funded program that will initially be implemented in 5 regions nationwide: Pacific, Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic. The purpose of this RFA is to solicit interest from organizations, or consortia of organizations to deliver the CWC program in each of these regions. At the end of the 4-year term, we are hopeful that these organizations will continue to offer CWC to their local communities, and become certified training centres to further expand and grow the program.
We would encourage any organizations interested in responding to the RFA to carefully review and consider the selection criteria that is outlined on Pages 6 and 7 of the RFA, to ensure that they are eligible.
For additional information regarding the CWC program or to acquire a copy of the RFA , please download the RFA Transmittal Letter and Request for Application [PDF].
Thank you in advance for your interest in CommunityWorks Canada, and the opportunity to enable long-range positive impacts on employability, independence and the quality of life for individuals and families impacted by ASD.
