Els for Autism Golf Tournament
Posted: June 17, 2014 in The Ability Hub News
Sorry Ernie is not coming to Calgary, but you can meet him and his PGA buddies in Vegas if you raise $13,000 or more. Here’s how:
Els for Autism-Canada is bringing its fundraising golf challenge to the Glencoe Golf and Country Club in Calgary, Alberta, Monday July 21st, 2014.
Every dollar raised will stay in Calgary to support the Ability Hub and Autism Aspergers Friendship Society of Calgary’s programs for young adults living with Autism.
The Els tournament is unique with its two-person teams competing to see who can raise the most money for their local Autism organization through sponsorships – not for the lowest golf score. Everyone who raises over $13,000 earns a place at the Grand Finale – a two-day extravaganza of golf and entertainment in Las Vegas hosted by Ernie and his PGA Tour friends October 10 to 12, 2014.
Els does not attend the 20+ local golf challenges across North America.
The current North American leaderboard has the White/Marcus team leading with $38,730 raised to date.
In this tournament, a team’s FUNdraising ability beyond just the registration fee is valued more than their performance on the golf course. More details can be found at: www.elsforautismcanada.com
The Els for Autism Golf Challenge was launched in 2011 by professional golfer Ernie Els, whose son Ben was diagnosed with autism in 2007.
Els for Autism-Canada is a Canadian-based organization committed to helping people diagnosed on the autism spectrum live healthy, productive lives.
