It’s time to get BACK TO WORK for the EmploymentWorks Canada Team!
Posted: September 7, 2016 in General Autism News
It’s hard to believe that summer has ended and September is already fast upon us. While we’ve heard many fantastic stories about individuals going camping, vacationing in far off exotic places, and in one case, skydiving during a rainstorm, the EmploymentWorks Canada team have also been hard at work establishing vocational opportunities with a variety of new businesses and unique industries. Over the course of the summer, we have made wonderful connections with new community partners like Toolshed Brewery, the Calgary Fire Department and Emergency Response (EMS), the Calgary Police Service (CPS), and the University of Calgary.
On September 20th, we will be lacing up our work boots once again to support a new group of participants as they learn and practice employment skills through ‘hands-on’ interactive work experiences. We are looking forward to reconnecting with past community partners, and to developing meaningful connections with our new partners as they engage in the program for the first time.
We are happy to report that the September program is currently full, but we still have some space available in our Winter cohort starting in January 2017. If you are interested in learning more about the EmploymentWorks Canada program and how to participate, please contact Mike Barrett, Program Supervisor at 403-210-5000 or via e-mail at email@example.com.
