The Resource Centre at The Ability Hub provides information, navigation, and parent peer support to individuals, families, and professionals during business hours Monday to Friday. It also coordinates a series of public workshops focused on timely topics relating to the transition to adulthood over the course of the year and supports a number of community-based outreach activities.
The Resource Centre is staffed by Ambassadors, who are knowledgeable about autism and can provide accurate information and navigation to a wide variety of community-based resources. Families and individuals affected by autism frequently comment that in a challenging information environment, when faced with an overwhelming diagnosis like autism, they truly appreciate the one-on-one personal connection.
The collection of resources includes Tip Sheets on common autism-related issues, workshops, books, brochures, our website, and an online resource database. Material can be viewed in the Resource Centre, which features a relaxed seating area. Our lending library is cost-free and covers an extensive range of topics and ages, all carefully selected to offer credible information.
Our Ambassadors are available to help with information and resource navigation, follow-up support for the Launch into Life! Individual Transition Plan development, and to talk about living with autism.
